DIGITAL ART
Aligned with Massachusetts Art Education Standards, our High School Digital Art Program offers a diverse curriculum designed to nurture artistic expression through digital media. Students progress through four distinct levels, each offering a unique exploration of digital tools and techniques.
Course Descriptions:
Digital Art I:
Software: Adobe Photoshop
This introductory course lays the foundation for digital art creation. Students become proficient in Adobe Photoshop, learning essential techniques for image manipulation, collage techniques, and digital painting. Emphasis is placed on developing a strong visual language.
Digital Art II:
Software: Adobe Photoshop
Description: Building upon the skills acquired in Digital Art 1, this course delves deeper into advanced Photoshop techniques. Students refine their digital artistry through projects that explore complex compositions through collage, photo manipulation, and creative design elements.
Digital Art III:
Software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
Description: Digital Art 3 expands the creative toolkit by introducing Adobe Illustrator. Projects focus on digital illustration, logo design, and creating dynamic visual elements. Students explore vector-based graphics, allowing for precise and scalable designs.
Digital Art IV (AP Option):
Software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
Description: Designed for advanced students, Digital Art 4 offers the option to pursue Advanced Placement (AP) level coursework. Students engage in college-level projects, honing their artistic skills and preparing for the AP Studio Art exam.
